The foundation of Smash Wheat Blend is based on buckwheat, a rugged and drought-tolerant plant that is easy to grow and does an excellent job at smothering out competitive weeds. The blend also includes chicory, which is highly productive and able to handle drought-like conditions, crimson clover which benefits the mix with its nitrogen fixing capabilities and provides ground level forage cover, and forage kale which creates a desirable and highly palatable food source.
